Renowned for his use of bold colors and distinctive style, Milan was an expressionistic colorist who employed innovative techniques of layering washes of fast drying acrylics, at times reaching 25 layers in one painting, powerful brush strokes, splatters and palette knife to create depth and luminosity.
Milan, primarily a self-taught artist, was accepted into his first gallery at 17 and has shown in galleries from California to Florida, including his own gallery in Santa Fe, NM.
At the time of his death Milan left behind a legacy of painting innovation and a wealth of original paintings and limited edition prints.
